Volkshochschulverband (Association of Adult Education) in
Thuringia in cooperation with the Adult Education Associations
in Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, Lower Saxony and Saxony as well as
Bavaria.
This German-language edition of the language portfolio for
adults accredited by the European Council is applicable for
acquiring all European languages (including German as a Foreign
Language). It contains a language pass-port, a language
biography, a folder and guide-book with information on
application in the language learning process. The language
portfolio is based on the system for six learning levels (A1-C2)
described by the Joint European Reference Framework and the
competency descriptions contained therein ("can do"
descriptors).
With the help of the portfolio, students can clarify their
personal learning goals (personal learning schedule-
persönlicher Lehrplan), test their learning (checklists -
Checklisten), become introduced to learning strategies (routes
to language learning- Wege zum Sprachenlernen) and experience
other culturals (dossier -Dossier). The Sprachenpass provides an
opportunity to document language capabilities.
